Who We Are

What started as a hardware store in San Antonio back in the mid-1980’s became what could be one of the oldest flooring stores in the historical town of Laredo, TX. Family owned and operated, Carpet World wasn’t always the name, but the idea has always been the same; what can we do to give others the experience we wish we had everywhere we go?

We started where everything usually hits the first snag, answering the phone. When you call us, you are not talking to a call center or dialing “3” for more options. If we are in the office and not on the other line, you are speaking to the owner of the business. How many times have you had to sit on hold to get an answer for a simple question? How many times have you spoken to someone who had no idea what they were talking about or what you were asking? We’ve been there too, we hate it, that’s why we list even our cell phones to ensure that you can always reach us no matter what. We don’t hire outside resources to answer because the kinds of questions involved in a project that is a major decision like yours deserve to be answered by someone who cares about it just as much as you do.

The next step? We kept it simple. We carry a handful of brands and we have a strong relationship with the companies to ensure that we know the ins and outs of what we sell. We aren’t trying to compete with everyone, because everyone isn’t competing with us. We are a small shop that specializes in unique products and special orders, not churning out 100 sales a month. We measure every home ourselves, we go to you and make sure that we get it right the first time and that you are given every option available to choose from so that you can have a floor that you love, not just whatever was on the shelf.
